Bloodpit

Question: Hi Aleksi, Hi Paavo! Can you introduce yourself?

Aleksi: I'm Aleksi and i'm the bass player from Bloodpit.

Paavo: I'm Paavo. I play the guitar.

Question: Does the name Bloodpit have any spezial meaning or background?

Paavo: (laugh) Actually no. It's a finnish Word Play. It is a stupid old story.

Question: Okay. How do you create an album? Is there someone who writes the music and lyrics or do you all work together?

Aleksi: The album "Mental Circus" has been released in Finnland one year ago, on this one we spent lots of time. On this record you are going to find the best songs of bloodpit between 1999 and 2005. We write the stuff together, of course, Mathau makes the lyrics and at the last album Paavo and Mathau made all the music.

Question: Do you have support or it is all your own?

Aleksi: Everything is our own. We don't want any help.

Question: What are your impressions of the concerts in Germany up to now? Do you have more people at the shows at "home"?

Aleksi: Yes, of course. We have now over 200 Gigs in Finland.

Question: How many people visit your shows there?

Aleksi: I don't know. Sometimes there are just a few people, last sommer at a festival, there were thousands of people. The differences are huge.

Question: I heard you have played in Berlin for some days.

Aleksi: We played there last Friday.

Question: Whats your impression from Berlin?

Aleksi: I think, that was one of the best shows we have ever done. I think it was the best show ever outside of Finland.

Question: You played in Russia, now in Germany...

Aleksi: We were in the U.S. last spring...

Question: How was the resonance in the U.S.?

Aleksi: The resonance was very good.

Paavo: Something is going on when you look at myspace in the internet.

Aleksi: The U.S. are very huge. It is very expensive to get from Finland to the United States.

Question: Are there any differences concerning the mentality of the fans in different countries? You seem to be really enthusiastic about the concerts in Russia.

Aleksi: I think the most enthuastic people were in Russia. They go mad. In Finland the people recognize us. It is the first time at Germany up to now and the people watch, to see, what is going on. It is very different. Sometimes there are crazy headbanging, sometimes they are standig still... or they are sleeping in front of the stage (laughing).

Question: Is the audience in Berlin different from the one in munich? There are not many people here today.

Aleksi: In Berlin it was weekend and during weekend more people are drunk. Today it is thuesday... Tomorrow the people have to go to school or to work.

Question: Berlin is much bigger than Munich...

Aleksi: Of course, but we give our best every night. It doesn't matter how many people are at the show and what day it is.

Question: Right now you're still a band that's not around that long - where do you see yourself in 20 years? What are your aims and how do you think you will act?

Paavo: I hope we can attract people from other countries with the new album. I don't wanna be any "One hit wonder".

Aleksi: It could be great to have a carrer. It could be nice to go everywhere in the world. Of course, if we sell records somewhere, it would be great, but I think it is not the most important.

Question: Which kind of music do you listen to, privately?

Paavo: We all like different kinds of music.

Aleksi: But I think there are Rock, Pop and Metal Music.

Question: Did you lear "normal" jobs or is the music the only way?

Paavo: Right now we live only for the music. I wanted to be a football player before I bought a guitar. But Bloodpit is better, because you can go in the stage drunk.

Question: What's been the first and the last records you've ever bought?

Paavo: My first CD was "Therapy - Infernal love". I'm going to buy the new Deftones Album when I find it somewhere.

Aleksi: My first CD was actually at the End of the 80ies "Genesis - Invisible Touch". I think it was the best Rock'n'Roll Album ever. The last one I bought was "My chemical Romance - The Black Parade".

Question: Are there any German bands that you know or listen to?

Aleksi: Last year we toured in Finnland with Helloween.

Paavo: When I was a kid, I listened the Scorpions. Now I hear for example Guano Apes.

(The Drummer whistle "In the wind of chance")

Paavo: Thank you for this Scorpions part.

Question: Have you been at a Scorpions concert?

Paavo: Couple of years ago in Finland.

Question: Did you have some time to visit Munich today?

Aleksi: No. We arrived two hours ago. We only saw the airport, gas stations...

Question: And tomorrow?

Aleksi: We leave at 12 o'clock.

Question: Use the night! Do you like bavarian beer?

Aleksi: Yes. It is like in Finnland.

Paavo: But much cheaper.

Question: Thanks a lot for the interview!
